Dr. Theodore Chow
OptometristFollowing his Master’s degree in Clinical Neuroscience at Western University, Dr. Teddy Chow received his Doctor of Optometry from the Indiana School of Optometry. During this time Dr. Chow actively engaged in clinical research training in areas of retinal imaging in myopia progression and specialty contact lens design in corneal diseases. He has since lectured on these research interests internationally, with conference and journal publications in myopia (nearsightedness), contact lens design, retinal imaging, and clinical neuroscience. Graduating in the top 5% of his class, Dr. Chow has won multiple awards including the GPLI Contact Lens Clinical Excellence Award and the VSP Primary Care Excellence award.
During Dr. Chow’s clinical rotations, he was able to provide superior care and focused treatment in various specialty clinics across the United States. At the Cornea and Contact Lens Institute of Minnesota, he focused specifically on using Orthokeratology to treat myopia in children as well as Scleral Lenses for patients with corneal diseases. He then specialized in treating eye diseases related to complications of diabetes, high blood pressure and stroke at the Columbia VA Medical Center.
In 2019, Dr. Chow joined his family at the Chow Eye Institute, continuing the generations-long passion in serving the community and taking care of everyone’s eyes. He also enjoys continuing research in understanding myopia (nearsightedness) progression and how to control it. During his spare time, Dr. Chow enjoys meditation, watching movies and playing video games (with fellow Chow Eye Institute doctor, and brother-in-law, Dr. Jeffery Ng).
